Happy Flawless Friday, Darling!

How about the weather this week?! Can you believe it was in the 70’s…in Pittsburgh…in February?! I definitely took advantage of the sunshine and broke out some Spring clothes. This skort is too cute with the fun ruffled sleeve details and checker pattern. Of course, I had to take my red cross body out for a spin and a pop of color!

In celebration of Spring right around the corner, I made a list of my top 5 Spring Essentials pieces:

Number One: A Denim Jacket

Come March, I rarely leave my apartment without a jean jacket! They are perfect for an added layer on a warmer day and can be the perfect touch to a casual look. With that being said, I don’t wear one if I am already wearing jeans, even though I am totally team Brittany and Justin! Wear your jean jackets with dresses, rompers, and jumpsuits. If you are going for a really casual look, wear one with a hooded sweatshirt and a baseball hat.

Number Two: A White T-Shirt

The perfect white t-shirt can be so hard to find. Although it may sound silly, it is definitely a piece worth putting your money into. Wear your white shirt with any denim pant, legging, or skirt. It is the perfect piece to wear under your jean jacket or cardigan. Add a scarf or statement necklace to dress your white t-shirt up.

Number Three: Versatile Sneakers

Okay, I have WAY too many sneakers, but I can’t help it. I love Vans, Adidas Superstars, Air Force 1’s, Converse, and Michael Kors sneakers. I will wear these with literally EVERYTHING. The photos above are a great example of this. The skort I am wearing could have easily been dressed up with a pair of wedges or pumps, but I dressed it down with white sneakers for an out-and-about look.

Number Four: Backpack

Mini backpacks are making a comeback! Just kidding, I am not so sure they are. But Spring time means being outside and what a pain it is to carry all of your stuff! I have the backpack in the link above in black and I get so many compliments on it! I use it as a purse and put my wallet in it and usually my polaroid camera, too.

Number Five: T-Shirt Dress

Looking for something to wear with your denim jacket and adorable sneaker? Hello, t-shirt dress! You can never have enough t-shirt dresses. They are perfect for running errands, happy hours, or date night! They are super duper easy to dress up or down and can be worn all the way into Fall. Try a t-shirt dress with a cargo jacket and your favorite sunglasses for a cute Spring look.

What are your Spring essentials? I would love to hear from you!

Happy Flawless Friday, Darling!

Valentine’s Day came and went so fast! Whether your Valentine was a boyfriend, girlfriend, or Ben & Jerry, I hope that you had a wonderful day.

Last weekend we had such a fun Galentine’s Day party! My apartment was turned into a pink and red wonderland. We took polaroid pictures and tied them to the bottom of heart balloons and it was adorable. This was a last minute idea, but next time I am totally making this polaroid picture balloon chandelier. We also had a vodka and pink lemonade drink with frozen strawberries that we delicious!

For Valentine’s Day, I made these chocolate covered strawberries. They were so yummy and simple to make! It is a lot (and I mean a lot) cheaper to make your own, and they will be sure to impress!

If you got roses from bae, don’t throw them away! All rhyming aside, here is a really cute idea to make a dried rose shadow box! I love this idea because it is the perfect way to keep your flowers from your loved one forever.

What did you do for Valentine’s Day? Do you have any fun plans this weekend?

“What’s Galentine’s Day? Oh, It’s only the best day of the year.” – Leslie Knope

Happy Galentine’s Day, Darling!  Time to drink girly drinks and just celebrate ladies being ladies. Galentine’s Day is all about having fun and appreciating your gal pals. Galentine’s Day can be brunch, happy hour, a dinner party, or whatever you want it to be!

If you are thinking about throwing a Galentine’s Day party, it’s not to late! Remember:  We have as many hours in the day as Beyonce.  Who Run the World? GIRLS!

Here are 6 tips to throwing a flawless last minute Galentine’s Day Party:

Tip #1: Invite Your Girls!

First, make your guest list! Last year, we designed the CUTEST Galentine invitations and personally mailed them to our friends. This year, we were a little pressed for time and just made a Facebook group. If you want to be a little more creative than a Facebook group, but don’t have time mail invitations, check out Paperless Post. You can design personalized invitations that will go right to your guest’s email! This invitation is perfect for Galentine’s Day!

Tip #2: Decorate

Decorating is my favorite part about hosting a party. One word: Balloons! Balloons are the easiest way to decorate your apartment. Buy a few themed balloons and maybe a few streamers and you are off to an amazing start. String lights are also a great way to get your guests into the spirit.

Tip #3: Pop! Fizz! Clink!

Your party can be BYOB, but make a fun themed drink for your guests, too! I always use my 2 gallon mason jar beverage dispenser and find a fun recipe that goes with the theme of my party.  Here is a Champagne Shirley Temple recipe that will be perfect for your party. Don’t forget to buy red and pink cups!

Tip #4: Fun Foods!

Find a recipe that goes along with your theme.  Valentine’s Day is pretty easy. Just find or make pink and red snacks! red and pink M&Ms are perfect to put out on your table for guests and will look adorable. This is also the perfect time to pull out the chocolate fountain you just had to have but rarely use! (or was that just me?) Use mini plates and napkins that color coordinate!  Here are some from Target that are too cute to pass up.

Tip #5: Tunes!

Every party has to have music! Enjoy this Galentine’s Day playlist for you and your ladies. Girl power! I’ve been listening to this while writing this post and it is really getting me excited to hang with ME AND MY GIRLS!

Tip #6: Stuff to do!

Make a fun backdrop for a photo booth! Here is a DIY V-day backdrop. Or, if you are pressed for time, buy Valentine themed wrapping paper to make a quick and easy background. You could also buy valentine cards for everyone to make! The possibilities are endless. I love to put my polaroid camera out during parties so everyone can take fun pictures!

What are your plans this weekend?! Is there anything you would like to see a blog post about?!
